Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about Hunt's crispy fish and chips, often describing them as the best they've had. The fish is perfectly cooked with a light, golden batter that doesn’t get greasy, enhancing the overall experience. The speed of service even when busy is a common highlight; patrons appreciate how orders are processed quickly without compromising quality. The warm, friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere, making every visit enjoyable. Many locals regard Hunt's as a Friday tradition, often its only waiting line—an indication of its popularity and tasty offerings. The variety on the menu keeps it exciting, from hearty burgers to small plates for lighter bites.

Most Disliked

One recurring theme in reviews is the potential wait time, especially during peak hours. While many appreciate the freshness of the food, some prefer a quicker service during busy periods. Though the popularity of Hunt's Traditional Fish and Chips is partly to blame for this issue, it can test the patience of those looking for a quick meal. Another occasional complaint involves the limited seating available, which can feel cramped during lunch and dinner rushes, especially on weekends. Some visitors might find the prices creeping towards the higher end when adding extras, which might impact larger family outings.

Top class local chippy with very reasonable prices. The food tastes really good and it's all fried fresh. Very friendly staff that acknowledge and appreciate your custom. You can expect a bit of a wait when you go but that's a clear sign of fresh food and customers who rate it highly.

Had THE most delicious and perfectly cooked fish supper as a Friday night treat, forgetting that you might be very busy due to all the power cuts from storm Éowyn. I'm amazed hubby came home with the grub so quickly but my goodness, it was out of this world! The food is always great from Hunts; we've never been disappointed.
